این تصاویر ماهواره ای تازه منتشر شده تغییرات نورهای زمین را در بین سالهای 1992 تا 2009 نشان می دهند، رنگ زرد نشانه افزایش، بنفش کاهش، و سفید بی تغییر است. این نورها که از بالا دیده می شوند معروف به آلودگی نوری و نوعی هدر دهی انرژی اند. این نورها در سراسر ایران زیاد شده اند و به طور مثال در اروپای شرقی کاهش پیدا کرده اند. در این تصویر کمی بگردید خیلی از شهرهای بزرگ را از نور خیره کننده شان پیدا می کنید.
New released satellite pictures (by NOAA) show the changes in nighttime lights over the world between 1992 and 2009. Yellow color shows where lights have increased, purple indicates where lights have decreased, and white areas show no change. Lights all over Iran has increased.
